MLB Salary Arbitration: Dylan Lee and Edwin Uceta in Dispute

In the world of baseball, the salary arbitration process is ongoing. Several players and teams are in negotiations to define their salaries for the upcoming season. Recently, two cases have caught attention.

The pitcher Dylan Lee and the Atlanta Braves faced off in arbitration on Friday. The lefty requested a salary of $2.2 million, while the team offered $2 million.

The case of Lee was evaluated by Jeanne Vonhof, Paul Radvany, and Margie Brogan, who will issue their decision during the week of February 9th.

Lee, 31 years old, had a standout season last year, with a 2-4 record, a 3.29 ERA, and two saves in 74 relief appearances. In the previous season, he earned $1,025,000.

On Thursday, Edwin Uceta and the Tampa Bay Rays were involved in the first salary arbitration case of the year. The 28-year-old right-handed pitcher requested $1,525,000, while the team proposed $1.2 million.

There are still twelve players scheduled for hearings, which will extend until February 13 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

In another relevant case, the two-time American League Cy Young Award winner, Tarik Skubal, requested a record $32 million, while the Detroit Tigers offered $19 million to the left-handed pitcher.

Kansas City Royals infielder Vinnie Pasquantino avoided a hearing on Friday by reaching a two-year contract agreement. The team’s announcement is subject to a successful medical review.
