French golfer Victor Perez becomes the first player to leave the PGA Tour this year to join the Saudi Arabian-funded LIV Golf league. The announcement was made this Tuesday, confirming his addition to the Cleeks team. Perez, who held a joint membership in the PGA Tour and the European Tour, has three European Tour titles to his name. So far this year, his participation outside the PGA Tour was limited to the French Open. His best result was a tie for ninth place at the RBC Canadian Open. The change comes after the departure of Frederik Kjettrup, who failed to stay in LIV Golf after not finishing among the top 48 in the points standings. Currently in 108th place in the FedEx Cup and at risk of losing his card, Perez withdrew from the RSM Classic this Tuesday.
The Cleeks team is led by Martin Kaymer as captain, and includes the participation of Adrian Meronk from Poland and Richard Bland.Joining Cleeks Golf Club for the 2026 season feels like joining the next great chapter in golf, as this club continues to break barriers, perform at the highest level, and bring energy and fresh vision to the game.
