Sei Young Kim Wins the BMW Ladies Championship

LPGA Tour veteran Sei Young Kim showcased her skills on the course by securing victory at the BMW Ladies Championship with an impressive final round of 67. This triumph marks the 13th title in Kim’s career since joining the circuit in 2015, ending a five-year winless streak since her victory at the Women’s PGA Championship in 2020. Kim, 32, completed the tournament with a total of 24 under par, with a score of 264 at the Pine Beach Golf Links, located on the Korean peninsula. The South Korean golfer only stumbled on the 3rd hole, but recovered with six birdies in the rest of the round, securing a comfortable lead over her closest competitor, Nasa Hataoka. Hataoka, from Japan, also signed a final round of 67, finishing at 20 under par, with a total of 268. Celine Boutier and Kim A-lim shared third place with a score of 67 and 66, respectively. Defending champion Hannah Green shot a 66 and finished at 17-under par, tied for fifth place with Yealimi Noh of the United States, who shot a 70. Lindy Duncan, also from the United States, was one stroke behind, sharing seventh place with South Koreans Choi Hye-jin and An Na-rin, who tied for the best round of the day with a 63. Last week, Jeeno Thitikul became the first player with multiple LPGA wins this season, after winning in a five-hole playoff in Shanghai against Minami Katsu. Thitikul did not participate in this tournament, but will be part of the Thailand team at the International Crown next week. After the International Crown, the LPGA’s Asian circuit will continue with two more events in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and in Japan.
