Sei Young Kim Extends Lead at the BMW Ladies Championship

HAENAM, South Korea – An eagle on the 17th hole propelled Sei Young Kim to extend her lead to four strokes before the final round of the BMW Ladies Championship, after a standout round of 3-under par (69) on Saturday.

In a windy and cloudy day at Pine Beach Golf Links, on the Korean peninsula, Kim finished with a total of three rounds of 19 under par (197), despite a bogey on the 18th hole.

Yealimi Noh (67) and Nasa Hataoka (69) are tied for second place.

American Brooke Matthews, who had followed Kim by one stroke after the second round, suffered a triple bogey on the par 3 of the 15th hole, finishing six strokes behind Kim and tied for fourth place after a round of 74.

Defending champion Hannah Green signed a card of 68 strokes and was at 11 under par, eight strokes behind Kim, tied with her fellow Australian Minjee Lee, who completed Saturday with 71 strokes. Brooke Henderson also recorded 71 strokes, finishing nine behind the leader.

This tournament marks the first of a consecutive series of LPGA events in South Korea, with the International Crown team event scheduled for next week.

After the International Crown, two more LPGA events will be scheduled on the five-event Asian tour, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and in Japan.
