Paul Peterson Leads ISCO Championship After Suspension Due to Darkness

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Paul Peterson is at the top of the ISCO Championship with a one-stroke lead, after the third round was suspended due to lack of light on Saturday night.

The game at Hurstbourne Country Club was interrupted twice during the afternoon, totaling approximately three hours, due to thunderstorms. This PGA Tour event, also sanctioned by the European Tour, has presented significant challenges.

Peterson, with an impressive performance, was 5 under par for the round and 10 under par overall. The 37-year-old player, a rookie on the PGA Tour, stopped his game after making his second shot, leaving the ball 30 feet from the 16th hole, a par 4. This is his twentieth appearance in a PGA Tour tournament.

Chan Kim, who led by five strokes at the start of the round, is in second place. Kim had bogeys on holes 11 and 12 and had not yet started hole 13 when play was stopped.

David Skinns and Luke List share third place, both at 7 under par. Skinns made an eight-foot birdie on the 15th hole, while List completed a bogey-free round with a 65, leading in the clubhouse. Twelve players were unable to finish their participation.

The tournament winner will secure a two-year exemption and a spot in next year’s PGA Championship. It is worth noting that no players in competition will participate in next week’s British Open. Harry Hall, who won in a playoff last year at Keene Trace, qualified for the British Open and is competing in the Scottish Open.

Jackson Koivun, a student at Auburn University, is tied for 15th at 3-under par, after a round of 68. Koivun achieved an 11th-place tie last week at the John Deere Classic.

The first interruption lasted 1 hour and 36 minutes, with the game restarting at 3 p.m. The second pause extended for 1 hour and 55 minutes, with the game resuming at 7:05 p.m.
