Joaquin Niemann Conquers His Fifth Season Victory at LIV Golf United Kingdom

Joaquín Niemann once again demonstrated his dominance in golf by securing his fifth victory of the season at LIV Golf UK, with an impressive performance that culminated in a three-stroke lead. Niemann closed the tournament with a round of 68 strokes, three under par, reaching a total of 17 under par (196 strokes) at the JCB Golf and Country Club in Rocester, England. The Torque GC captain added five birdies and two bogeys to his impressive list of achievements, which already includes victories in Adelaide, Singapore, Mexico City, and Virginia. This triumph secured Niemann a prize of 4 million dollars. A curious fact is that this victory came after Niemann made the decision to change his caddie and coach after failing to make the cut at the 2025 Open Championship. Although Niemann shone individually, his team, Torque GC, failed to maintain the three-stroke lead over Legion XIII in their quest for their first team title since 2023. Legion XIII performed exceptionally on Sunday, with 14 under par, finishing the tournament at 35 under par, surpassing Torque GC by eight strokes.

Niemann commented on his performance, highlighting his calmness and ability to handle pressure, especially when Bubba Watson started to get closer in the rankings. The key for Niemann was a precise shot on the 15th hole, which allowed him to secure a crucial birdie.

Caleb Surratt (65 on Sunday) and Talor Gooch (66) also had notable performances, finishing the tournament at 13 and 11 under par, respectively. Regarding the team game, Legion XIII’s captain, Jon Rahm, celebrated his team’s fourth victory of the season.

With the four results counting this year, I thought we played to our advantage. It was proven from the beginning and is being proven now. I think that in the middle of the season none of us played as well as possible.
