Ben Griffin Leads Procore Championship with Strong Performance

Amidst the anticipation for the Ryder Cup, Ben Griffin demonstrated his composure at the Procore Championship, playing bogey-free for the second consecutive day. With an impressive round of 6 under par, Griffin positioned himself at the top of the leaderboard with a three-stroke lead. The competition is fierce, with outstanding players nipping at his heels. Among them are Russell Henley and Jackson Koivun, the latter a promising amateur who shone in the Walker Cup.

I ran with Russell Henley on the practice field and told him I would catch him. That was my goal.

Koivun and Henley finished the day tied, three strokes behind Griffin, who held firm with a cumulative score of 14 under par. J.J. Spaun, the U.S. Open champion, is also in contention, five strokes behind the leader, along with Lanto Griffin. The presence of several players from the American team at Silverado, supervised by captain Keegan Bradley, adds a special appeal to the tournament, serving as an excellent preparation for the Ryder Cup. Ben Griffin has maintained focus on the tournament, despite the upcoming Ryder Cup.

Without a doubt, off the course, with the guys, there’s some Ryder Cup presence, but when I get to the first tee, I think about playing well here.

Griffin has skillfully handled the par 5 holes and has demonstrated solid play overall. Scottie Scheffler, although he had some birdies, did not manage to reach his best level, finishing eight strokes behind Griffin. Russell Henley, for his part, has enjoyed his time with his teammates, preparing for the Ryder Cup.

It’s a dream come true to be able to play on the team, and playing with two teammates this week was really great these first two days. I’m definitely thinking about it a lot, but trying to make sure this is a good preparation week.

J.J. Spaun, although he didn’t feel at his best, managed to stay in the competition. Ben Griffin, on the other hand, continued working on his game, focusing on maintaining confidence and motivation.
