Charley Hull Wins the Kroger Queen City Championship After a Dramatic Finish

MAINEVILLE, Ohio – Golfer Charley Hull clinched victory at the Kroger Queen City Championship, capitalizing on an unusual stumble by world number one Jeeno Thitikul on the final hole of the tournament. Thitikul, who led by one stroke after Hull’s bogey on the 17th hole, suffered an unexpected setback by missing four putts on the par 5 of the 18th hole, from a distance of approximately 50 feet. The Thai player missed a five-foot putt and another three-foot putt. Hull, for his part, made two putts from about 30 feet, sinking one from two feet to secure the victory.

I wasn’t really watching his birdie putt because I thought he was going to make it. I guess until the fat lady sings, it’s not over, but I was shaking on that last putt because I wasn’t expecting it.

Hull closed the tournament with a round of 68 strokes, four under par, for a total of 20 under par (268 strokes) at TPC River’s Bend. This is the third victory for the 29-year-old English player on the LPGA Tour and the first since 2022. In addition, she has four victories on the Ladies European Tour. Thitikul tied Hull with a round of 68 strokes. The Thai star, who won in May at the Liberty National in New Jersey, missed the opportunity to become the first player with multiple wins in the season. Lottie Woad of England finished in third place at 18 under par after a round of 66 strokes. Miyu Yamashita (69) finished at 17 under par, followed by the world number two, Nelly Korda (70), at 15 under par, along with Nasa Hataoka (65), Chisato Iwai (71), Sei Young Kim (69), Jennifer Kupcho (67), Mary Liu (70), and Maja Stark (69). Hull arrived at the tournament after a second place in Houston last week, as part of the Aramco series on the European circuit.
