Lewis Hamilton: The F1 Driver Thanks for the Support After the Loss of His Dog

The renowned Formula 1 driver, Lewis Hamilton, expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support received after the passing of his faithful companion, Roscoe. The news of the death of Roscoe, who was 13 years old, moved fans and colleagues from the world of motorsport. Hamilton shared the sad news on his social media, where he wrote: “I lost my best friend last night. Thank you all for the love you have shown him over the years. Roscoe forever.” Roscoe had become a beloved figure in the F1 world since being adopted by Hamilton in 2013. The news of his death generated a large number of messages of support from rival teams and fans around the world.

“Yes, many messages,” commented Hamilton before the Singapore Grand Prix. “It was quite overwhelming, to be honest, to see how many people Roscoe touched around the world, and it was really touching to receive so much love.”

The pilot continued saying: “I haven’t been able to respond to everyone, but he was the most important thing in my life, so it was a very difficult experience. I know that many people in the world have gone through this and know what it’s like to have a pet that gives you so much love, and it’s an incredible experience.”
Hamilton, who arrives at the Singapore Grand Prix with a less favorable streak of results, also mentioned that he is focused on giving his best on the track. The seven-time world champion indicated that he has many people at Ferrari to whom he also wants to dedicate a good result, in addition to thanking everyone who has given him their support. “I think there are many people who deserve a good result from me and this team. The tifosi and the people who have followed me and all the people who have cared and have been so supportive throughout this last year, but also this last week. “I think it’s in moments like that where you really see people show up for you and that’s been, like I said, really overwhelming to see and really welcome.” Regarding his chances this weekend, Hamilton said: “It’s hard to say because this will be the first time I drive a Ferrari in Singapore. “But the car felt very good at the start of the last grand prix and we couldn’t maintain that throughout the weekend. But, as I said, there have been learnings as to why that was and I think we’ll have a better approach this weekend. And, obviously, last week I haven’t had as much time as I’d like with the team, but I know they’ve been working very hard at the factory. “And we’ve caught up in the last two days, so I feel optimistic about it. I have no idea how fast the others are going to go. Obviously, they’re going to be fast, the Red Bulls very fast and also the McLarens and Mercedes.” “So we have a lot of work to do.”
