Oleksandr Usyk defeated the British Daniel Dubois in his last fight in July. The Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk has ruled out a fight against the young British heavyweight Moses Itauma, but has confirmed that he is training and will return to action next year. Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) secured a resounding victory over Daniel Dubois in July, reclaiming his undisputed heavyweight crown. The fight took place at Wembley Stadium, where Usyk demonstrated his superiority and regained the IBF belt he had vacated the previous year. The WBO had ordered Usyk to face interim champion Joseph Parker, but negotiations did not progress, as Usyk declared he was injured and needed time out of the ring. Parker is scheduled to fight Fabio Wardley in London on October 25.
Moses Itauma defeated Dillian Whyte in August. Usyk revealed that he is already back in training, but that he will not face Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) in his next fight.

No, I will not fight Itauma. He is young… he is always provoking me. And he himself said that he doesn’t hit old people.

The boxer also commented on the choice of his next opponent, but preferred not to give specific names due to ongoing negotiations. Itauma is considered one of the most promising prospects in the boxing world, with an impressive record of 11 knockouts in 13 fights. His last victory, a KO in the first round over Dillian Whyte in August, was a clear demonstration of his potential. Usyk, 38 years old, plans to return to the ring in 2026, but it has not yet been decided who will be his rival. Furthermore, Usyk shared his future plans: “I will fight until I am 41 years old. Then I will build a sports academy; I will train there and train others.”
