Molly McCann proved her worth in the ring by obtaining her second victory in professional boxing, surpassing Ebonie Cotton by decision of the judges this Saturday.
The fight, which lasted six intense rounds, was scored 58-56 in favor of McCann (2-0, 1 KO) by referee Ryan Churchill.
From the start, the fight was characterized by a frenetic pace. McCann took the initiative in the early stages, connecting rapid combinations, although Cotton’s mobility made his task difficult.
As the fight progressed, McCann consolidated his attack, connecting more precise punches, with his left hand causing constant problems for Cotton (1-1).Cotton did not flinch, maintaining a good guard with his left jab and connecting his own punches, even after suffering a cut on his head in the fourth round, which caused him to bleed.
In the fourth round, both boxers showed signs of fatigue, resorting to clinches and even falling to the canvas at one point.
The fighting style, pace, and determination of both contenders made this an exciting match, with McCann doing enough to secure the victory on the scorecards. Neither of them stopped throwing punches from the first to the last second.
McCann, who previously competed in the UFC with 14 fights, announced his retirement from MMA in March, later focusing on boxing.
In September, McCann had achieved his first professional boxing victory, defeating Kate Radomska by technical knockout in the sixth round in Belfast.
