Fight Card Change: Cherneka Johnson to Defend Titles on Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis Night
An unexpected change shakes up the card of the highly anticipated Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis event, scheduled for November 14th. Due to an injury suffered by the unified junior featherweight champion, Ellie Scotney, during her training, her fight against WBA titleholder Mayelli Flores has been removed from the program. Instead, Most Valuable Promotions has announced that the undisputed women’s bantamweight champion, Cherneka “Sugar Neekz” Johnson (18-2, 8 KOs), will defend her titles against Amanda Galle (12-0-1, 1 KOs) as the main event of the preliminary card.Bidarian added: “Even with short notice, this will be a fight full of non-stop action, with both fighters ready to make a statement and go to war on Friday, November 14. Johnson comes into this fight after her technical knockout victory in the ninth round against Metcalf in July, which made her the first undisputed Australian champion in the four-belt era. For her first title defense, she will face an undefeated Canadian who hopes to cause an upset.“I’m excited to get back in the ring before the end of the year!
