Fundora vs. Thurman: Title Defense Postponed Due to Injury
The expected defense of the WBC super welterweight title by Sebastian Fundora against Keith Thurman, scheduled for October 25, has been postponed.
The reason for the postponement is a hand injury Fundora suffered during his training.
Sampson Lewkowicz, Fundora’s manager, along with representatives from Premier Boxing Champions, confirmed the news of the injury and the postponement.
“Fundora will return in January 2026,”
The entire event, which was to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, is postponed.
The co-main event between WBC super lightweight champion O’Shaquie Foster and featherweight title holder Stephen Fulton will also be rescheduled.
This is the second time the Foster-Fulton matchup has been rescheduled, initially planned for August.
Fundora, with a record of 23-1-1 and 15 KOs, was looking for his third fight in 2025, after achieving knockout victories over Tim Tszyu and Chordale Booker.
Thurman, with a record of 36-1 and 23 KOs, aimed to obtain the super welterweight title for the second time.
Thurman, 36, has only fought once since 2022, achieving a TKO victory over Brock Jarvis in March 2025.
