Danny García Announces His Return to the Ring in “Farewell to Brooklyn”

The two-division former champion, Danny Garcia, is preparing for his return to the ring. The event, called “Farewell to Brooklyn”, will take place on October 18 at the Barclays Center, marking the beginning of the end of his outstanding career. Swift Promotions, owned by Garcia, will be in charge of organizing the event. García, with a record of 37-4 and 21 KOs, has maintained moderate activity in recent years, participating in only four fights since 2020. His last fight was in September 2024, where he suffered a defeat against Erislandy Lara for the WBA middleweight championship. The Philadelphia pugilist will face Daniel González (22-4-1, 7 KOs) in a ten-round bout in the super welterweight category. García has hinted that the end of his boxing career is near, but before hanging up his gloves, he wants to return to the stage where he starred in an event in 2012, the first boxing event at the Barclays Center.

There’s nothing like a great night of boxing at the Barclays Center. I had to do this show for the fans and show them how much I’ve appreciated them all this time. The best way to say goodbye is by fighting here one last time and giving them a great night of boxing filled with rising young talents. It will be the DSG show in Brooklyn once again on October 18th!
