Kim Clavel is Crowned Two-Time World Champion
Canadian boxer Kim Clavel has made history by becoming a champion in two different divisions. The achievement was realized on Saturday night in the main event of Most Valuable Promotions Prospects 15, held at the Theatre St-Denis in Montreal. Clavel, with a record of 24 wins and 7 losses, with 2 KOs, defeated Sol Cudos (10-1-2, 3 KOs) by unanimous decision, conquering the IBF strawweight world title. The judges ruled scores of 99-91, 99-91 and 98-92. The fight was more disputed than the scorecards suggest, with several very close rounds, where both boxers starred in frenetic exchanges that ignited the audience. Clavel’s speed made the difference, allowing her to overcome her rival.Despite suffering a cut above her left eye in the early stages, Clavel remained calm and continued to press, initiating exchanges in the intermediate rounds. Cudos tried to counterattack and time the Canadian’s attacks, but did not achieve the necessary speed to stop her.
Clavel finished the fight strong, and both boxers exchanged blows in the final seconds of the tenth round, with the audience on their feet. After this victory, Clavel challenged the WBC strawweight champion, Yokasta Valle, to a future fight.
