The 2025 edition of Survivor Series: WarGames, although it left more questions than answers, met expectations in terms of entertainment and creativity. The event stood out for the surprising return of Liv Morgan, the appearance of a mysterious figure that facilitated the victory of The Vision team in the men’s WarGames battle, and the victory of AJ Lee over Becky Lynch in the women’s WarGames match.
That’s the question all fans ask themselves after Survivor Series. At the end of the men’s WarGames match, a person dressed completely in black, with their face covered and a hood, climbed the cage and applied a superkick and a stomp to CM Punk. These familiar moves suggest the possibility that Seth Rollins, who is out of action due to a shoulder injury, is responsible, but it seems to be a false lead. It is more likely that it is the return of a competitor from the past, but who? Could it be Randy Orton, absent for two months? Maybe Austin Theory, out of action since July? Or, if we want to be daring, AEW wrestler Chris Jericho, who could revolutionize the world of wrestling with his return to WWE for the first time since 2018? Whoever it is, it will be a major revelation, given the way Survivor Series concluded.
Bron Breakker’s victory was a key moment in the men’s WarGames battle.
After the mysterious man’s attack, Breakker was the one who applied the spear and achieved the count on Punk, which was a clear indication of what’s to come. The match began with a face-off between Punk and Breakker that seemed like a preview of a future world title match between the two. This idea was consolidated when Breakker defeated Punk and won the match for his team. Although Logan Paul also had a great performance for Team Vision, Breakker was the one who intentionally made the pin, which says a lot. Although Paul could be a future world champion, after Survivor Series, it seems that Breakker could be Punk’s next challenger.
Dominik Mysterio Wins Back the Intercontinental Championship
In a match full of unexpected twists, Mysterio regained the Intercontinental Championship by defeating John Cena. “Dirty Dom” resorted to all his tricks, including faking a shoulder injury that forced the referee to call for the medics, only for Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez to attack Cena. Dom reappeared as if nothing had happened, but the referee refused to count, allowing the match to continue. Dom also imitated Eddie Guerrero’s tactics at WrestleMania XX against Kurt Angle by loosening his boot, which caused Cena to remove it when trying to apply the STF. The ending was brilliant: Liv Morgan made her return and slapped Dom, then hugged Cena. In a reference to Cena’s change of attitude in March, Morgan’s expression went from joy to indifference, followed by a kick to Cena’s groin, allowing Dom to win the match. Dom reunited with the Intercontinental Championship and with Morgan. It was a very entertaining and significant victory for Dom, who has competed in three of Cena’s last four WWE matches, which is a great achievement.
Stephanie Vaquer defends her title
Vaquer defeated Nikki Bella to retain the Women’s World Championship, which was the right decision. Bella is a WWE Hall of Famer and deserves recognition, but Vaquer represents the present and the future. Vaquer has many challengers with whom she can create interesting stories, many of whom participated in the WarGames match. Speaking of which…
AJ Lee Shines at WarGames
In the women’s WarGames match, Lee achieved victory by submission over Becky Lynch with the Black Widow, which will undoubtedly lead to a singles match between the two, hopefully at WrestleMania. Iyo Sky (with a trash can with her brand) had the moment of the match, and perhaps of the night, by launching herself from the cage with the trash can over her opponents. Lash Legend had a great performance, demonstrating her dominance upon entering the match. The former WNBA and college basketball player has great potential. Charlotte Flair’s attire was inspired by Scarlett, 7, who is battling a brain tumor. A truly elegant gesture by the WWE superstar.
