SummerSlam Night 2: Cody Rhodes Recovers the Championship Against John Cena
The second night of SummerSlam presented an exciting chapter in John Cena’s “farewell tour,” where he defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
After an intense “street fight” match, Rhodes managed to snatch the title from the legend Cena. The night was full of surprises, including the return of Brock Lesnar, who impacted Cena with an F-5 after the match.
The night also witnessed the successful defense of several titles. Naomi retained her championship in the opening match, while Becky Lynch did the same after defeating Lyra Valkyria. Solo Sikoa, for his part, was victorious in a steel cage match against Jacob Fatu, retaining the United States Championship. Dominik Mysterio also kept his Men’s Intercontinental Title after defeating AJ Styles.
