SummerSlam Night 2: Cody Rhodes Recaptures the Championship Against John Cena
The second night of SummerSlam gave us a stellar match that will be etched in the memory of the fans. John Cena, in what seems to be his farewell tour, faced Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
After an intense “street fight” battle, Cody Rhodes managed to defeat the legend Cena, reclaiming the title. The excitement didn’t end there. After the match, Brock Lesnar made his return to WWE, delivering a shocking F-5 to an astonished Cena.
The night was filled with title matches. Naomi successfully defended her championship in the opening match. Becky Lynch also retained her title after defeating Lyra Valkyria. In addition, Solo Sikoa prevailed over Jacob Fatu in a steel cage match, keeping the United States Championship. For his part, Dominik Mysterio made sure to retain the Men’s Intercontinental Championship by defeating AJ Styles.
