CM Punk Surprises at SummerSlam, but Seth Rollins Steals the Show
In a night full of emotions at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, CM Punk achieved an epic victory by defeating Gunther and being crowned the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion on the first night of SummerSlam. However, the joy was short-lived.
After Punk’s triumph, his rival Seth Rollins, who possessed the Money in the Bank contract, seized the opportunity and cashed in his contract, defeating Punk to immediately snatch the belt.
Punk had won an elimination match last month on “Raw”, which guaranteed him the right to challenge Gunther for the championship.

- The former champions members of The Bloodline, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso, teamed up to defeat Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in a tag team match.
- Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss achieved a victory over Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.
- Tiffany Stratton defended her WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill.
Additionally, country music artist Jelly Roll made his professional wrestling debut, teaming with Randy Orton. Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul were victorious, but not before punishing Jelly Roll.
