RAF Pays Tribute to Hulk Hogan with WWE Collaboration

The wrestling world is gearing up for a special event. Real American Freestyle wrestling (RAF) has joined forces with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) for an emotional tribute to the late Hulk Hogan, which will air during its inaugural event this Saturday. Hogan, a key figure in the expansion of the World Wrestling Federation in the 1980s, passed away on July 24th at the age of 71. The event, which will take place at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, will be broadcast via FOX Nation. Months before his death, Hogan shared his enthusiasm for RAF with The Associated Press, a new venture he co-founded with Chad Bronstein. Bronstein, also CEO of RAF, has assured that Hogan’s influence will remain fundamental to the company.

I was very proud. He has been a great friend, mentor, and business partner. And his voice will be very present, this league will devise unique ways to integrate it.

The relationship between RAF and WWE is cordial. Real American Beer, the main sponsor of RAF, is 10% owned by WWE and was also co-founded by Bronstein. The evening will feature the participation of Kurt Angle, American Olympic gold medalist and one of the most important WWE stars in the early 2000s, who will be in charge of the commentary. Bronstein revealed that Hogan suggested Angle’s participation. Also present will be former WWE manager Jimmy Hart, and former world champion John Layfield. The main event will pit Wyatt Hendrickson against Mostafa Aly Elsayed Gabr Elders from Egypt. Other featured fights include:
  • Bo Nickal vs. Jacob Cardenas
  • Yianni Diakomihalis vs. Bajrang Punia
  • Darrion Caldwell vs. Real Woods
  • Austin Gomez vs. Lance Palmer
In the women’s category, the matchups between Kennedy Blades and Alejandra Rivera, as well as Sarah Hildebrandt against Zeltzin Hernandez, will take place.
