Jim Ross is widely recognized for his outstanding career in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he worked from 1993 to 2013. His iconic phrases have transcended popular culture, solidifying him as one of the most emblematic voices in the history of wrestling. His exclamation “My God!” or “By God!”, pronounced with his characteristic Oklahoma accent after a shocking moment, is perhaps his most famous phrase. Other energetic expressions such as “He’s broken in half” and “That man has a family” are often used on social media. Ross is a fervent supporter of the Oklahoma Sooners American football team, and has often accompanied wrestlers to the ring with the school’s anthem, “Boomer Sooner”. Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007, Ross has been linked to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) since 2019. AEW issued a statement expressing its support for Jim Ross.
