John Cena Headlines WWE Premium Event in Indianapolis
The renowned wrestler John Cena will lead a WWE Premium Live Event next month in Indianapolis, which will be broadcast through ESPN’s direct-to-consumer service. Cena will share the ring with figures of the stature of Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre at the first WWE Wrestlepalooza, scheduled for Saturday, September 20th. The event will start at 7 p.m. ET at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Rhodes holds the undisputed WWE title, Rollins is the World Heavyweight Champion, and Lynch is the Intercontinental Women’s Champion. This event will mark Cena’s last appearance as a wrestler in Indianapolis.This event inaugurates the new five-year agreement between WWE and ESPN, which will bring Premium Live events to ESPN platforms. ESPN’s direct-to-consumer service will launch on Thursday, and unlimited plan subscribers will have access to all WWE Premium Live events as part of their package.
Indianapolis hosted the 2025 Royal Rumble, setting an attendance record for the event at the nearby Lucas Oil Stadium. Tickets for the event will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. ET. Presale tickets will be available Thursday. In addition, two more events this year, Crown Jewel on October 11th and Survivor Series in San Diego on November 29th, will also be broadcast on ESPN platforms.“On September 20th, WWE and ESPN are joining forces for a must-see event that marks the beginning of our new collaboration,” declared Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Content Officer.
