Denny Hamlin Keeps Calm Amid Legal Battle with NASCAR<\/h2>\n\nBROOKLYN, Mich. \u2013 Denny Hamlin, co-owner of 23XI Racing alongside Michael Jordan, stands firm despite a recent federal panel decision that overturned a court order in the antitrust case against NASCAR.\n\n\n

We’re in good shape.<\/p>Denny Hamlin<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nHamlin expressed his confidence on Saturday, a day before the FireKeepers Casino 400. He stated that Michael Jordan shares his same perspective.\n\nThe case focuses on the dispute between 23XI Racing and Front Row with NASCAR, after refusing to sign new agreements regarding the renewal of their licenses. The teams requested a temporary restraining order to be recognized as licensed teams for this season, but the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of NASCAR.\n\nHamlin indicated that they are evaluating all available options.\n\nThe teams, still without victories this year, argued that the court order was necessary because the current licensing agreement prevents them from suing NASCAR. 23XI also alleged that it would be harmed, as Tyler Reddick’s contract would make him a free agent if the team could not guarantee him a license-protected car.\n\nHamlin assured he was not worried about losing drivers due to the uncertainty.\n\nTyler Reddick, last year’s regular season champion and a contender for the Cup title in November, arrives at Sunday’s race in Michigan in sixth place in the Cup standings.\n\nThe licensing system in NASCAR is similar to franchises in other sports, but licenses are revocable by NASCAR and have expiration dates.\n\nThe six teams could have to compete as “open” cars and would have to qualify by speed each week to enter the race, receiving a fraction of the revenue.\n\nWithout a license, Hamlin said it would cost teams “tens of millions” to run three cars.\n\n\n
