SANTO DOMINGO \u2013 The Tigres del Licey defeated the Toros del Este 7-3 in a vibrant match held this Saturday at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium. Francisco Mej\u00eda was a triple away from completing the cycle and produced four runs, while Gustavo N\u00fa\u00f1ez reached 400 hits in his career.<\/p>\n
With this victory, the Tigers improved their record to 21-26, keeping their season aspirations alive. On the other hand, the Bulls placed their mark at 25-22.<\/p>\n
The Licey opened the scoring in the first inning. Gustavo N\u00fa\u00f1ez hit a single to center field, stole a base and scored thanks to a hit by Francisco Mej\u00eda.<\/p>\n
This single by N\u00fa\u00f1ez made him the fifth active player with at least 400 hits in regular LIDOM series, joining figures like Junior Lake, Emilio Bonifacio, Juan Francisco and Mois\u00e9s Sierra.<\/p>\n
