The court determined that PSG must settle the salary arrears owed to the player.\n\nThe court decision obliges the Parisian club to pay approximately 55 million euros corresponding to outstanding salaries and bonuses. To this sum are added unpaid vacations, raising the total to 61 million euros, according to the calculations of the footballer’s lawyers.\n\nThe court also ordered the provisional execution of the ruling, which means that PSG must make the payment even if it decides to appeal the sentence, a possibility that the club has not ruled out.\n\n

PSG, in a statement, assured that it will comply with the court decision and that “reserves the right to appeal”. In addition, it defended that “it has always acted in good faith and with integrity” and stated that, from now on, the club looks to the future “based on unity and collective success”, wishing Mbapp\u00e9 “the best for the rest of his career”.<\/p>Paris Saint-Germain<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nThe court dismissed all of PSG’s claims, which amounted to 450 million euros. The club accused the player of disloyal behavior for his intention to leave the entity after the 2023-2024 season without formally communicating it.\n\nMbapp\u00e9’s lawyers expressed their satisfaction with the resolution, although the amount recognized is less than initially requested.\n\n

“We have been claiming the payment of the salaries owed to him for 18 months and that is exactly what we have achieved,” declared Delphine Verheyden, Mbapp\u00e9’s lawyer.<\/p>Delphine Verheyden<\/cite>\n\nFr\u00e9d\u00e9rique Cassereau, also the player’s lawyer, called the sentence “historic” and suggested that it would be “elegant” of the club not to appeal, considering that it reinforces the rights of the footballers.\n\nThe legal dispute arose after Mbapp\u00e9’s departure from PSG to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024, when the forward became a free agent upon the expiration of his contract.\n\nThe club, chaired by Nasser Al Khelaifi, stopped paying the last three months of salary, considering that there was a verbal agreement by which the player renounced those amounts after communicating that he would not execute the third optional year of his contract, which extended until 2026.\n\nMbapp\u00e9 denied the validity of the agreement, arguing that it was never officially registered and that no specific figures were agreed upon, arguments that were supported by the court.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
