It had significant repercussions in several weight categories.

New Champions and Promotions

Abdullah Mason, 21 years old, achieved a unanimous decision victory over Sam Noakes, becoming the youngest world champion in boxing by capturing the WBO lightweight title. Mason demonstrated his skill, but had to employ an excellent strategy of attrition and endurance to overcome an opponent who never gave up. Mason’s victory places him in eighth place in the divisional ranking.

Devin Haney ascended to the top of the welterweight rankings after defeating Brian Norman Jr., winning the WBO title with an outstanding display of boxing. Haney knocked down Norman in the second round and controlled the fight with his jab, nullifying his opponent. Norman dropped three places, landing at number 4 after the defeat.

Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez solidified his position at number 1 by defeating Fernando Martinez, unifying three super flyweight titles. Martinez remains at number 2, considering his two victories over Kazuto Ioka, ranked number 3.

David Benavidez’s triumph over Anthony Yarde solidified his position as number 3 in the light heavyweight division, behind Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol. Benavidez announced that he will move up to cruiserweight for his next fight, challenging Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez on Cinco de Mayo weekend.

Classification Criteria

Boxing rankings highlight the best in each weight category, and are updated according to recent results. Boxers who change categories will be ranked in their new division once they fight there. Champions with titles in multiple divisions may be ranked in both.

Boxers inactive for more than 12 months, with no scheduled fights, will be removed from the ranking until their return. Any boxer who tests positive for performance-enhancing substances will also be removed, and may re-enter after their next fight.

Division Rankings

<h3
