The last nation to achieve three titles in a row was the United States, which won five consecutive titles between 1968 and 1972.\n\nSinner, world number two and a key player in Italy&#8217;s recent successes, chose not to participate this week, preferring to focus on preparation for the upcoming season. Lorenzo Musetti, ranked number 8, was also not present.\n\nDespite these absences, Italy demonstrated its strength, winning its three matches of the week 2-0 at the SuperTennis Arena in Bologna, after eliminating Austria in the quarterfinals and Belgium in the semifinals.\n\nSpain was also deprived of its main figure, Carlos Alcaraz, world number one.\n\nIn Sunday&#8217;s final, Berrettini defeated Pablo Carre\u00f1o Busta with a score of 6-3, 6-4. Subsequently, Cobolli came back to defeat Jaume Munar 1-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5, securing the decisive point, as he did on all three occasions this week. Cobolli reacted by dropping his racket to the ground and was lifted by his Italian teammates.\n\nItaly won the Davis Cup for the first time in 1976, followed by victories in Malaga in 2023 and 2024.
