Philadelphia Phillies right-handed pitcher Aaron Nola, who is currently injured, has postponed his live batting practice session scheduled for Thursday due to a slight right side discomfort, as reported by manager Rob Thomson on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last week, Nola had mentioned that his recovery from the injured list, due to a sprained right ankle, was progressing more slowly than expected, and that he would probably need to make a rehabilitation outing in the minor leagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So far this season, Nola has a 1-7 record with an ERA of 6.16 in nine starts. A date for his next pitching session has not yet been set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Phillies placed Nola on the 15-day injured list on May 16, aiming to prevent another injury while the player recovered from his ankle. The 31-year-old veteran allowed 12 hits, nine runs, and three home runs, all career highs, in the 14-7 loss to St. Louis on May 14.<\/p>\n\n\nNola, who signed a seven-year, $172 million contract before the 2024 season, was injured on May 8 during agility drills prior to the game against the Rays at Steinbrenner Field.\n\n\n
In his 11 seasons with Philadelphia, Nola has a record of 105-86 with an ERA of 3.78.<\/p>\n\n\nNola has been one of the most consistent pitchers since his debut in 2015. Aside from a brief 10-day stint on the COVID injured list in 2021, Nola hadn’t missed a start since 2017 before this recent absence.\n\n\n
