Leclerc: “It’s frustrating, I don’t see optimism for the race”<\/h2>\n\n\nDOHA, Qatar \u2013 Charles Leclerc expressed his pessimism about Ferrari’s chances for Sunday’s race in Qatar, stating that he hasn’t had a single lap on the circuit that gives him hope of competing for points.\n\nLeclerc, known for his skill in qualifying, managed to get his Ferrari into Q3, after the team didn’t score points in the sprint race of the same day.\n\nDuring the last session, Leclerc had a significant spin while struggling with his Ferrari on a timed lap, and ultimately qualified in tenth position.\n\n\n

“It’s really difficult to drive,” Leclerc said about the car. “And it’s just frustrating. The second lap in Q3 was very good, but it was only enough for tenth place, which is, once again, very frustrating.”<\/p>Charles Leclerc<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nLeclerc was skeptical about the possibility of maintaining a place in the top ten.\n\n\n

“I’m generally a very optimistic person, but I’m struggling to find optimism for tomorrow,” Leclerc replied when asked about a positive result for Sunday’s race. “There isn’t a single lap this weekend that has given me hope that things can go in the right direction.”<\/p>Charles Leclerc<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nLeclerc added that a good day would be to keep the car on the track and score some points, although he doesn’t feel confident about achieving it.\n\nLeclerc’s Ferrari teammate, Lewis Hamilton, had an even worse performance, failing to get past the first qualifying session for the third time in a row.\n\nHamilton faced elimination in Q1 in Las Vegas and in Friday night qualifying in Qatar, for the sprint race.\n\nWhen asked if he was confident of being able to move up positions in the Grand Prix, Hamilton replied: “Not really.
