League history suggests that two consecutive top picks can be a big boost for a franchise. Sunday’s draft held no surprises, as the top five teams maintained their positions.\n\nIn the mock draft prior to the draft, Awa Fam, a Spanish player, was projected as number 1. However, after Azzi Fudd’s shooting exhibition at the Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase, attention is focused on the UConn guard.\n\nPaige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd, teammates and friends, could be the foundation to bring the Wings back to the playoffs.\n\nWNBA labor negotiations are ongoing, and before the April draft, there will be more information about each team’s composition.
