The Dominican Republic continues to reap successes in the XX Bolivarian Games, adding four new medals on the sixth day. The outstanding performance of the Dominican athletes resulted in a silver medal in water skiing and three bronzes in taekwondo.\n\nWith these new achievements, the Dominican delegation accumulates a total of 18 medals: 1 gold, 6 silver and 11 bronze.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Silver for Andrea Pigozzi in Water Skiing<\/h2>\n\n\nIn the Bujama Lacus Nautical Club, Andrea Pigozzi won the silver medal in men&#8217;s jump, recording a mark of 49.90 meters. Chilean Sergio Barrientos Fern\u00e1ndez dominated the event with 56.20 meters, while Jos\u00e9 Browne Bezanilla obtained the bronze with 46.40 meters.\n\nPaolo Pigozzi, also representing the Dominican Republic, finished in fourth position with 45.80 meters. In the figures modality, Paolo finished fifth with 2,360 points. Andrea did not manage to advance to the final in figures, finishing in 12th position with 200 points. In slalom, Andrea was fifth and Paolo sixth, while Francesca Pigozzi finished fifth in women&#8217;s figures, fourth in jump (28.10 meters) and fourth in slalom.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Taekwondo Brings Three Bronze Medals<\/h2>\n\n\nThe Ayacucho Convention and Exhibition Center was the scene of the outstanding participation of the taekwondo team, which contributed three bronze medals:\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Pedro Luis Mart\u00ednez \u2013 bronze (-68 to -80 kg)<\/li><li>Saul Taveras \u2013 bronze (58 to -68 kg)<\/li><li>Mar\u00eda Pe\u00f1a \u2013 bronze (49 to -57 kg)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\nIn the -49 kg category, the athlete Vanessa Lara did not manage to get past the quarterfinals.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Field Hockey Finishes in Fourth Place<\/h2>\n\n\nThe men&#8217;s field hockey team was on the verge of the podium, finishing in fourth place after falling to Peru in the bronze medal match. The match, played at the Andr\u00e9s Avelino C\u00e1ceres Sports Complex in Villa del Triunfo, ended in a 3-3 draw in regulation time, decided in penalties with a score of 2-3 in favor of Peru. The Dominican goals were scored by Francisco Javier Garc\u00eda Pe\u00f1a (2) and Bladis Quezada Cuevas (1). Chile took the gold and Venezuela the silver.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fencing Exits in Quarterfinals<\/h2>\n\n\nThe men&#8217;s sabre team, composed of Gabriel Alfau Laracuente and H\u00e9ctor Palacios Murillo, failed to advance to the semifinals, falling to Peru in the quarterfinals with a score of 38-45. In the individual competition, Gabriel Alfau finished in seventh place, while H\u00e9ctor Castro Linares placed in twelfth position.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Artistic Gymnastics Qualifies for Finals<\/h2>\n\n\nGymnast Wilfri Manuel Garc\u00eda secured his place in the floor and vault finals, which will be held this Saturday at the Gymnastics Coliseum of Villa El Salvador.\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Floor: 8th place with 12,566 points<\/li><li>Jump: 9th place with 13,250 points<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LIMA, Peru.
