Bryce Harper Day-to-Day with Elbow Injury<\/h2>\n\n\nThe Phillies’ first baseman, Bryce Harper, remains under daily evaluation as he recovers from a contusion in his right elbow, keeping his return to the field uncertain.\n\nHarper was hit by a 95 mph fastball thrown by Spencer Strider, pitcher for the Atlanta Braves, during the first inning on Tuesday. Although X-rays ruled out a fracture, Harper described the injury as “still very painful” and has not yet resumed batting practice.\n\n\n

Harper’s elbow, operated on in 2022 with Tommy John surgery, remains a sensitive area. In view of the injury, Harper plans to use a protector on his right elbow once he returns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite this setback, the two-time National League Most Valuable Player emphasized that he does not believe Strider’s pitch was intentional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phillies manager Rob Thomson echoed Harper’s sentiments, stating that he does not expect Harper to go on the injured list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
