This appointment marks the beginning of a new cycle for the Quisqueyan team, focusing on the Qualifiers for the 2027 Basketball World Cup in Qatar.\n\nGarc\u00eda, with his vast experience, will seek to guide the country towards its fourth consecutive participation in a World Cup. Previously, he managed to qualify the team for the editions of Spain 2014, China 2019 and the most recent in 2023, held in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines. Dominican Republic has a history of five World Cup participations, the first being in 1978.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifying Calendar<\/h2>\n\n\nThe road to Qatar 2027 will begin on Friday, November 28, when the Dominican Republic national team faces Mexico at the Marcelino Gonz\u00e1lez Gymnasium in Zacatecas. The match is scheduled for 8:40 p.m. local time, which corresponds to 10:40 p.m. in Santo Domingo.\n\nThe second match of the qualifying phase will be played at home on Monday, December 1st. The Ricardo Gioriber Arias Volleyball Palace, located in the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, will be the setting for this important duel.\n\nDominican Republic is part of Group A, along with the United States, Mexico, and Nicaragua. The qualifying process will award seven spots for the selections of America.\n\nIn the Third Window, scheduled for July 3, 2026, Dominicans will receive the United States at the Virgilio Travieso Soto Sports Palace, currently undergoing remodeling.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technical Body and Work Structure<\/h2>\n\n\nThe technical staff that will accompany Garc\u00eda will be made up of assistants David D\u00edaz, Abraham Disla and Sergio Jim\u00e9nez.
