It will be Joshua&#8217;s first fight since September 2024, when he suffered a knockout loss in the fifth round against Daniel Dubois.\n\nThe former cruiserweight champion, Okolie (22-1, 16 KOs), is in full preparation for his own fight, which will coincide with the Paul-Joshua event on December 19 in Nigeria. I want to go to Puerto Rico. What I don&#8217;t want to happen to him is for him to get destroyed in a round or something like that if AJ sets his mind to it.<\/p><cite>Lawrence Okolie<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nOkolie wants Paul to have a realistic experience of what it means to face a world-class heavyweight.\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I need to know. Maybe he has a secret that I don&#8217;t know.<\/p><cite>Lawrence Okolie<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nOkolie, who has been Joshua&#8217;s sparring partner in the past, does not rule out the fight going beyond the first rounds, despite widespread expectations.\n\nOkolie acknowledges the disparity in size and skill, but also points out that in boxing, more unexpected things have happened.\n\nThe British boxer speculates that Joshua might not seek a quick knockout, but warns that if Paul manages to land significant blows, the situation could change drastically.\n\nOkolie suggests that, given Joshua&#8217;s inactivity, the match could be used as an exercise.
