Sinner Wins Against Alcaraz in the ATP Finals Final<\/h2>\n\n\nItalian tennis player Jannik Sinner took the victory in the last match of the “Sincaraz” rivalry of 2025, defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the ATP Finals.\n\nSinner, currently in second place in the ranking, defeated Alcaraz, number one in the world, with a score of 7-6 (4), 7-5. This was the sixth encounter between both players so far this year, all of them in finals.\n\nSinner defended the title before his Italian audience, achieving his second victory against Alcaraz this year, after having also defeated him in the Wimbledon final. Despite this defeat, Alcaraz still leads the head-to-head record with a score of 10-6.\n\n\n

It was an incredible season. Finishing it this way, in front of my Italian fans, is very special for me.<\/p>Jannik Sinner<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nAlcaraz had already secured the number 1 ranking at the end of the year and was playing his first final in this event that brings together the eight best players of the year.\n\n\n

I am very happy with the level I played today, with the performance. I played against someone who hasn’t lost an indoor match in two years. I hope they are ready for next year because I will be. Hopefully, we will play more finals against you.<\/p>Carlos Alcaraz<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nSinner added that he hopes they have “great, great battles ahead”.\n\nThis year, the pair has faced each other in three Grand Slam finals. Alcaraz defeated Sinner at the French Open, Sinner took revenge at Wimbledon, and Alcaraz prevailed again at the US Open.\n\nThey also faced each other in the final of the Italian Open (won by Alcaraz) and in the final of the Cincinnati Open (won by Alcaraz after Sinner withdrew due to illness).\n\nSinner also won the Australian Open, defeating Alexander Zverev in the final, so both he and Alcaraz won two Grand Slam tournaments this year.\n\nIn total, Alcaraz has won six Grand Slam tournaments and Sinner has won four.\n\nSinner saved a set point in the first set with a powerful second serve that Alcaraz couldn’t return. Sinner took control of the tiebreak by retrieving a drop shot and responding with a lob that led to a smash.\n\n\n

I am extremely happy with how I handled the situation.<\/p>Jannik Sinner<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nAlcaraz received treatment on his right thigh on two occasions and had it bandaged after the first set.\n\n\n

It didn’t really affect me too much because I was able to run well.<\/p>Carlos Alcaraz<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nSinner thrilled the audience in the next game by winning a long exchange and put his finger to his ear, asking for more noise in the Inalpi Arena.\n\nSinner broke Alcaraz’s serve again to close out the match when the Spaniard missed a backhand, and then fell to the ground on his back in relief.\n\n\n

It was a huge emotion.<\/p>Jannik Sinner<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nAlcaraz led in winners with 28-25, but also committed more unforced errors, 26-24.\n\nSinner, who was looking to improve his serve after the defeat against Alcaraz at the US Open, led in aces with 8-5, but also committed five double faults, while Alcaraz committed none.\n\nThis was Sinner’s tenth consecutive victory in the finals, going back to his defeat against Novak Djokovic in the 2023 final. Furthermore, Sinner has not lost a set in that streak.\n\nSinner also extended his winning streak on indoor hard courts to 31 matches.\n\nIn the doubles final, Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten defeated Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski 7-5, 6-3.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
