Alyssa Thomas Joins Project B, New Women’s Basketball League<\/h2>\n\n\nWNBA star Alyssa Thomas has confirmed her participation in Project B, the new women’s basketball league that plans to begin operations in Europe and Asia in November 2026.\n\nThomas, who was a finalist for the WNBA MVP award, joins Nneka Ogwumike as the first players to be part of this innovative league.\n\nThe Phoenix Mercury star announced her decision via social media, a week after Ogwumike revealed her intention to play in this league, which promises high salaries and equity participation for the players.\n\n\n

As one of the most respected players in the world, she represents the new era of player partnership and global competition that Project B represents.<\/p>Alana Beard, Director of Basketball of Project B<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nThomas led the Phoenix Mercury to the WNBA Finals last season.\n\nThe 6’2″ player has had an outstanding career in the WNBA, including five All-Star nominations.\n\nAt 33 years old, Thomas has played abroad during the off-seasons and also participated in the inaugural season of Unrivaled last year. He will return to this 3×3 league in January, where he will coincide with several WNBA players.\n\nThe B Project will have 66 players distributed across six teams.
