The Atlanta Braves have officially activated Ronald Acu\u00f1a Jr. from the injured list, preparing for the first game of the series against the San Diego Padres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The outfielder, previously recognized as MVP, returns to action after almost a year of absence in the Major Leagues. Acu\u00f1a Jr. suffered a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee on May 26, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before his return, Acu\u00f1a Jr. participated in five rehabilitation games with the Triple-A Gwinnett team. During this period, he demonstrated his ability by batting .417 (5 of 12) with a home run, two doubles, and one RBI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Right-handed pitcher Nick Pivetta will be in charge of starting Friday’s game for the Padres. In his career, Acu\u00f1a Jr. has a batting average of .233 against Pivetta, with no home runs and nine strikeouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Acu\u00f1a Jr., who has been selected to the All-Star Game four times, was the National League Rookie of the Year in 2018 and the Most Valuable Player in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his career with the Braves, Acu\u00f1a Jr. has maintained a batting average of .289\/.379\/.525 in 722 games, accumulating 165 home runs, 417 RBIs, and 196 stolen bases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
