Guillermo Almada Announces His Resignation from Pachuca<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pachuca’s coach, Guillermo Almada, submitted his resignation on Thursday, three weeks before the start of the Club World Cup. However, the Liga MX team has not yet accepted his resignation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an official statement, Pachuca announced that the Uruguayan coach has a contract in effect until 2026 and that the payment of the termination clause is required, both by the coach and any other interested team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Guillermo has a current contract with this institution until December 2026. According to sources, Almada is the main candidate to coach Cruz Azul once Vicente S\u00e1nchez’s departure is finalized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Almada’s resignation is accepted, the team that hires him would not have to pay the termination clause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the event of Almada’s departure, Gabriel Caballero would provisionally assume the technical direction of Pachuca, preparing for the group stage matches against Real Madrid, Al Hilal, and RB Salzburg this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Almada’s decision represents a new setback for Pachuca’s management, which was recently involved in the dispute over the exclusion of Club Le\u00f3n, a team of Grupo Pachuca, from the Club World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In May, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld FIFA’s decision to exclude Le\u00f3n from the tournament due to the rules on multi-club ownership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
