Despite not reaching the highest figures compared to other recent agreements, Purdy prioritized the team’s ability to keep other key players. His new contract represents less than 19% of the salary cap, which will allow the 49ers to maintain a competitive team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Purdy emphasized the importance of building a strong team, with a great locker room and talented players, beyond obtaining the most money possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
