This special design is based on the McLaren M7A, the first McLaren single-seater to win a Formula 1 race in 1968 and the first to sport the team&#8217;s characteristic papaya orange.<\/p>\n\n<p>The inspiration also comes from &#8220;the elegance of the Riviera&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n<p>The design includes white markings on the rear and top of the chassis, with the drivers&#8217; numbers, reminiscent of the look of the M7A driven by Bruce McLaren.<\/p>\n\n<p>The presentation of this new image took place at an event organized by the cryptocurrency sponsor OKX on a yacht in the port of Monaco on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n<p>Drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will also use special designs for the Monaco weekend.<\/p>\n\n<p>McLaren has chosen to modify its image in the Monaco weekend in recent seasons.<\/p>\n\n<p>Last year, the team presented an image inspired by Ayrton Senna, while in 2021, they sported the colors of their then sponsor Gulf.<\/p>\n\n<p>The British team currently leads the constructors&#8217; championship with 132 points, while Piastri surpasses Norris by 12 points in the drivers&#8217; standings.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>McLaren presents a new retro image for the upcoming races in Monaco and Spain.
