Former Major League player and World Series champion Rafael Furcal was arrested this Wednesday in Florida, facing charges related to a traffic incident that escalated to violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furcal, 47, faces serious charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and throwing objects considered “lethal missiles” at someone else’s property, according to an arrest affidavit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police report reveals that Furcal was involved in a traffic situation with another person, the alleged victim, where a collision almost occurred. After this, both vehicles stopped, and Furcal, allegedly, began throwing stones and a plastic bottle at the other driver’s truck, who remained inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the victim exited the car, Furcal allegedly picked up another rock, “the size of a small hand,” and threw it, causing lacerations even though the person tried to protect themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outstanding Career in Major Leagues<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Furcal had a 14-season career in MLB. He debuted in 2000 with the Atlanta Braves, where he won the National League Rookie of the Year award. He participated in three All-Star Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2011, he was part of the St. Louis Cardinals team that won the World Series, the only title of his career. He was selected to the All-Star Game in 2012. His last stint in the majors was with the Miami Marlins in 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his career, Furcal played 1,614 games, batting for a .281 average, with 587 RBIs, establishing himself as one of the most outstanding Latin shortstops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
