Three-time All-Star, Matt Carpenter, has announced his retirement from baseball after a distinguished 14-season career in the Major Leagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The news was revealed on Wednesday on the Sports Spectrum podcast “Get in the Game,” hosted by his former teammate Scott Linebrink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carpenter, recognized as a talented infielder, was selected by the Cardinals in the thirteenth round of the MLB Draft in 2009, coming from TCU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His career includes eleven seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals (2011-2021), followed by stints with the Yankees in 2022 and the Padres in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, he had a final encounter with the Cardinals, participating in 59 games in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
