This period also saw the departure of coach Warren Gatland, being replaced by Steve Tandy.\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a3.espncdn.com\/combiner\/i?img=%2Fphoto%2F2023%2F0910%2Fr1222775_1296x729_16%2D9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" title=\"\"><figcaption>Louis Rees-Zammit pas\u00f3 18 meses en la NFL antes de regresar al rugby en agosto. Also included is Rhys Carre, the Saracens prop.\n\nTandy commented that the selection process has been exciting and that they are happy with the mix of young and experienced players.\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>It&#8217;s been really exciting to go through the whole process and realize how many good players we have. We have reached the selection decision, with which we are very happy. There is a very good mix of some young guys coming in, mixed with some experience as well. But the overall feeling is really exciting and I can&#8217;t wait to have the guys in camp on Monday.<\/p><cite>Steve Tandy<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\nA notable absence is that of Will Rowlands, who announced his retirement from international rugby, after having played 41 matches for Wales.\n\nTandy praised Rowlands for his service to Welsh rugby.\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Will has been an incredible servant to the game in Welsh rugby. He has been an exceptional player and a great human being in the environment. Those who have spoken about Will have said that he added a lot of value to the national game, both on and off the field.
