UFC veteran Jorge Masvidal has been favored by a Florida judge, who granted him a default judgment for over $5 million in his lawsuit against the online platform Fanmio. This company was the promoter of his 2024 boxing match against Nate Diaz.<\/p>\n
Judge Beatrice Butchko Sanchez approved Masvidal’s request, granting the sentence after an arbitration ruling that awarded the former BMF champion $5,315,268.64, plus post-judgment interest.<\/p>\n
Masvidal sued Fanmio in January, alleging that his agreement for the fight with Diaz included a $6 million purse, plus an additional million if he won the fight. Masvidal lost the fight by decision and claimed to have received only a $150,000 advance and a $1 million payment.<\/p>\n
The referee ruled in favor of Masvidal, and with final approval, the matter has been resolved. However, Fanmio still faces litigation with other fighters.<\/p>\n
Nate Diaz filed a lawsuit against Fanmio two weeks after Masvidal’s, claiming that he was owed more than $9 million. An arbitrator awarded Diaz $6 million, plus attorney’s fees. This case is still awaiting final approval.<\/p>\n
In March, Fanmio filed a lawsuit against Golden Boy Promotions and Ryan Garcia, due to a canceled exhibition match with Rukiya Anpo, which was scheduled for December 31, 2024. Garcia chose to fight Rolando Romero in May.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
