The driver, starting from eighth position, starred in a spectacular comeback in the last two laps of the extension, taking the checkered flag.

The competition, which seemed destined for Denny Hamlin, who dominated much of the race leading 159 laps, had a heart-stopping finish. Several incidents in the final stages, including a slow pit stop, relegated Hamlin to seventh position.

These setbacks opened the door for Bubba Wallace, who positioned himself favorably to fight for the victory. After a red flag caused by an incident with Zane Smith, the race restarted with Wallace and Christopher Bell vying for first place.

In a crucial moment, Hamlin, who shares a team with Wallace, unexpectedly appeared, causing Wallace to brush the wall in his attempt to defend his position. It was then that Elliott took advantage of the situation and overtook Hamlin to secure his second victory of the season.

What a crazy finish! I hope everyone enjoyed it. I certainly did.

Chase Elliott, tras una remontada épica, se aseguró un lugar en la siguiente ronda de los playoffs.

Elliott joins Ryan Blaney as the two drivers already qualified for the third round of the playoffs. Next week, at the Concord, North Carolina circuit, the number of competitors will be reduced from 12 to 8.

Hamlin, visibly disappointed, finished in second place. The driver, who is seeking his 60th Cup victory, expressed his frustration. During the last laps, Hamlin had problems with the power steering.

Simply disappointing. I wanted to win. It would have been number 60 for me.

Bell and Chase Briscoe, Hamlin’s teammates, completed the top four. Wallace, for his part, finished in fifth place and, despite not getting the victory, was satisfied with his performance.

The next race will be at the Charlotte Motor Speedway mixed circuit, where Kyle Larson won last year. After this race, the playoff group will be reduced to eight drivers.

The four drivers at risk of elimination from the playoffs are Ross Chastain, Austin Cindric, Reddick, and Wallace.

Obviously, there’s only one thing we can do in Charlotte (win), and that’s what we’ll focus on.
Reddick

In a race full of emotions and unexpected twists, Chase Elliott took the victory at Kansas Speedway, securing his place in the third round of the NASCAR playoffs.
