The announcement comes after the dismissal of Japanese coach Masatada Ishii.\n\nHudson, with previous experience as interim coach of the United States men&#8217;s national team in 2023, was already linked to the Football Association of Thailand since last year, serving as technical development director.\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>At this crucial moment, we need someone who thoroughly understands Thai football. Subsequently, he was in charge of the Colorado Rapids of the MLS from the end of 2017 until May 2019.\n\nHudson took over as interim coach of the United States after Gregg Berhalter&#8217;s contract ended in late 2022. During his tenure, the American team played five matches, with a record of two wins, one draw and two losses, before leaving the position in May 2023.\n\nHudson&#8217;s first match in charge of Thailand will be a qualifier for the 2027 Asian Cup against Sri Lanka in November.
