This is not how we race. He was zig-zagging all over the place for a few laps. And when I finally tried to overtake, he reacted and didn’t leave the width of a track car, and that’s unfair, it’s not allowed, and that forced me to avoid him. It could have caused a big accident, honestly, without my quick evasion, so it’s a great shame.

Bearman finished in ninth position, while Tsunoda crossed the finish line in seventh place, a position that the Haas driver felt he could have achieved without the incident. Bearman did not limit himself to criticizing the race incident, but also questioned Tsunoda’s performance during the weekend.

In the sprint race, Tsunoda made a maneuver in turn 1 that resulted in the incident with his teammate, Hadjar’s car. In the main race, he repeated the action in the same turn. Bearman suggested that Tsunoda’s driving style could be a bit desperate, which was evident in his defense during the race.

For his part, Tsunoda did not perceive any problem in the incidents mentioned by Bearman.

That’s racing, right? I was totally in control, I had no lock-ups and was literally side by side. I’m not his teammate, I’m just fighting to be in the top 10 or more, so yeah, I thought it was okay.
Yuki Tsunoda

Added: “I don’t think I moved under braking.
