Las Vegas Aces Celebrate Their Third Championship in Style<\/h2>\nLas Vegas dressed up to celebrate the Aces’ third championship in the last four years. Just eight years after the WNBA and the NBA board of governors confirmed the relocation of the San Antonio Stars to Las Vegas, the team celebrated with a spectacular parade down the famous Strip.\n\n

“We’re back!” exclaimed owner Mark Davis, wearing a white satin team jacket on the stage at Toshiba Plaza, in front of the T-Mobile Arena. “Las Vegas, we are world champions.”<\/p>\n\nMark Davis<\/cite>\n<\/blockquote>\n\nThe parade, led by a display of lowrider classic cars showcasing their hydraulic systems, featured five double-decker buses that traveled down Las Vegas Boulevard from Tropicana Boulevard. The last bus carried the Aces, who threw streamers and confetti at the thousands of fans who gathered from four hours before the start of the parade.\nThe Aces overcame a season start with a 14-14 record and two very close playoff series before sweeping the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA Finals.\nThe Toshiba Plaza was filled to celebrate the fourth professional championship since 2022, with the Aces winning three and the NHL’s Golden Knights winning the Stanley Cup in 2023.\n\n

“We should do it again next year,” said Aces coach Becky Hammon.<\/p>\n\nBecky Hammon<\/cite>\n<\/blockquote>\n\nHammon, who completed her fourth season with the Aces, highlighted that this year’s team was the easiest to coach.\n\n

\n\n

“They came and worked hard, no matter the circumstances. This is one of the groups with the most character and resilience”.<\/p>\n\nBecky Hammon<\/cite>\n<\/blockquote>\n\nAfter losing several key players from their previous championship rosters, the Aces welcomed many new faces and needed almost three months to consolidate before achieving 16 consecutive wins to end the regular season and earn the second seed in the playoffs.\n\n

“This is a special group, we pray together and we toast with champagne together,” said A’ja Wilson, four-time MVP, who was emotional when talking about Hammon’s dedication to each player. “She believed in us when no one else did. We’re not going anywhere without Becky Hammon.”<\/p>\n\nA’ja Wilson<\/cite>\n<\/blockquote>\n\nNaLyssa Smith, who joined the team mid-season, looked at her teammates on stage and said: “You changed my life.”\nJackie Young, who has been part of the team in all three championships, kept her comment short and direct:\n\n

“Just know, we’re not done yet.”<\/p>\n\nJackie Young<\/cite>\n<\/blockquote>\n\nThe celebration culminated with confetti and fireworks illuminating the sky, while “We Are The Champions” by Queen resonated on the sound system.\nLive musical performances by Crime Mob, Ludacris, and Mya enlivened the celebration.\n\n
