Jerome suffered the injury during the first quarter of last week’s preseason game against the Miami Heat.<\/p>\n
After a standout season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Jerome became a free agent and signed a three-year, $28 million contract to join the Grizzlies.<\/p>\n
Memphis is facing several injuries as it prepares for the start of the regular season on Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.<\/p>\n
Backup point guard Scottie Pippen Jr. will be out for at least 12 weeks due to a left big toe injury. Second-year center Zach Edey has been sidelined with an ankle injury, and backup forward Brandon Clarke underwent knee surgery late last month. He was expected to be re-evaluated six weeks after the surgery.<\/p>\n
