Danny Garcia Says Goodbye to Brooklyn with a Spectacular KO<\/h2>\n\n\nThe former two-division world champion, Danny Garcia, concluded his “Farewell to Brooklyn” event with an impressive fourth-round knockout over Danny Gonzalez on Saturday at the Barclays Center in New York.\n\nGarcia (38-4, 22 KOs) connected his characteristic left hook to finish a surpassed Gonzalez (22-5-1, 7 KOs) at 45 seconds of the fourth round, in a fight scheduled for 10 rounds at 154 pounds. Gonzalez fell to the canvas with his ankle bending unnaturally. He tried to get up, but fell again and referee Harvey Dock stopped the fight.\n\nAt 37 years old, Garcia was the first boxer to headline an event at the Barclays Center in 2012, when he knocked out Mexican legend Erik Morales with a left hook in the fourth round. Thirteen years later, Garcia repeated the same punch in the same round against another Mexican opponent, in the main event of his “Goodbye to Brooklyn” card, which he promoted under his Swift Promotions brand.\n\nGarcia improved his record to 8-2 at the Barclays Center and, although he had his last fight in Brooklyn, he stated that there is a “high probability” that his boxing career will continue.\n\nGarcia set the pace from the start, hurting Gonzalez in the first minute of the fight. Garcia’s activity forced Gonzalez to defend himself, trying to avoid the blows.\n\n\n

“I noticed I hurt him, but for some reason, my timing was a little off,” Garcia said. “So I thought, ‘OK, let me calm down a little bit in the next rounds and work with my jab, and then, when he stops moving his feet, I can try to catch him.'”<\/p>\n\nDanny Garcia<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nGonzalez, who fought for the first time above the welterweight limit, had no answers for Garcia and was hit hard when Garcia stood his ground and threw a left hook that landed directly on his chin to end the fight.\n\n\n

“I already knew what he was trying to do,” Garcia said. “Everyone thinks I’m flat-footed.
